Shalom,

I think this has been suggested before, but wouldn't it be a great idea to make YouTube videos about Arianism in general, and the Arian Catholic Church.

I have a good video camera, and so I could write sermons (as I have also recorded on a voice recorder) explaining where we Arian Catholics (and Arians in general) are coming from, and explain why we believe what we do.

I think these could be topics to make videos on (although they need not be limited to these):

Introduction to Arianism
Introduction to Apostolic Christianity
Why Arianism?
The Trinity 'Evidences'
The Law
The acOSB

That's just a few of the topics we could make videos of. I generally have a lot of time on my hands, and thus I could start to write sermons or sermonettes (etc.) on various topics.

The forum could also assist in this by suggesting various arguments to use, which Biblical passages to take quotations from etc.

Does this sound like a good idea?

Thanks.

Pax et bonum.

I still think that rather than lectures, a discussion format like "Meeting of the Minds" would be preferable.

Remember, the use of relatively inexpensive green-screen and e-conferencing technologies can make such a very interesting to watch and could, if well done, send it viral.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Perhaps both, i.e. the basic introduction to what Arianism is, and then the debate? The problem, however, is finding someone who would be willing to discuss their faith with an Arian/Biblical Unitarian.

I don't know how to use green screen, but I do know that it cannot have creases. I saw a Battlestar Galactica Original Series continuation where they were told they would have to film the whole thing again simply because the green screen had creases in it. We would have to make sure that that doesn't happen, if we were to use green screen.

I just thought maybe a timed Powerpoint presentation, displaying pictures, Biblical references and quotes etc. Would this be a good idea do you think?

Edit: Just watched the video. As I thought, the green screen cannot have creases etc. Also, the software seems to be specific to Mac, but then again, the Mac is used more for media anyway. I'll have to search for Windows based green-screen software. Thanks for sharing that video.

I posted the mac YouTube because I liked the tone and quality of the presentation. There are far less expensive software options for PC which work just as well.

I would say that Powerpoint might be a useful tool for outlining the structure of each episode prior to working up the storyboards.

The biggest problem I see with the preliminary format you suggest is that it trends far too strongly in a negativist (against) focus. It is one thing to say "I'm not this" and "I'm not that" and "Thank you that I am not like other men, especially like this publican here...".

Farming and herding aren't all pruning and picking, shearing and slaughtering. They are first and foremost about cultivating and nurturing.

Remember, our altars are made of unhewn living stones, and upon them we offer our gifts of self in service to others who have not had their corners knocked-off ... each of whom have been included in their own special and unique way according to their individual strengths. Yeshua was about inclusion.

Pastoral work is a nurturing process, encouraging and facilitating the growth of the fruits of the spirit of truth, so they may survive and grow in a world of very prolific weeds.

We are told to be perfect as our Father is perfect, helping and giving to those who won't ever even thank us, and all too often harm us. I've digressed, but only a little.

If we are to be nurturers, what are we to nurture? How does one nurture?

If we merely present our own brand of dogma, what does that nurture? Dogmatism?

How about a short introduction introducing the terms that will be used in the discussion, then the discussion itself? Also, introductory videos to various terms, by themselves, could also be a possibility.

It might interest the forum that the A.V. has various chapters recorded, by divers people, on YouTube. I won't post links, as to link to about a hundred verses would take forever. One of the videos was even recorded by the Prince of Wales.
