Shalom aleichem,

As I may have said elsewhere, there are three Qara'i (Karaite) movements, being:

the Karaites;
the Qaraim of the former Russian and Ottoman Empires;
and the Tehudah Reformed Karaim.As many on this board will know, I am a former Qara'i (plural 'Qaraim'), but the Tehudah Reformed Karaim (singular 'Qaraite') are Jews who recognise Yehoshua as the Messiah, but not Eloah. This thus led to the dilemma that, if I accept the Tanakh as infallible, and I become a Jewish Christian, then so too is the Tehudah infallible, and the Word of God (HaDavar Eloah).

This thus led me to the conclusion (including what I learnt from the Hebrew Scriptures) that Yahoshua/Yehoshua/Yahushoa/Jesus is God. Anyway, that's why I became a Semi-Arian Jewish Christian.

I looked them up from the net, and it's quite fascinating. They seem to be like the Ebionites and Unitarians. It's written (here: http://www.webjam.com/karaim) that they consider Baptists (along with Quakers and Evangelicals) to be close to them, however most of the modern Baptists would pretty much condemn them, same with many Evangelicals. English Baptists, or Unitarian Baptists, would be a different case. Quakers as well.

Yes, it is quite fascinating. The Tehudah Reformed Karaim believe in the Mikvah, their equivalent of baptism, which is like what baptism should be: baptizo, or submerge.

It might interest the forum that I consider myself a 'Reformed Jew', a Jewish Christian. A Reformed Jew, I accept the Reformation of Judaism into Christianity that was instituted by the one who wanted to reform Judaism, but didn't succeed, which is, of course, Yeshuah, Yahushoa, Jesus, Joshua.

The final Messiah failed to reform Judaism because my people were not ready to accept it, and thus eventually led him to be executed by the Romans, as we all know. I have been called a 'Christ killer' by 'Christians', but this was never true (it upset me quite a bit, but there we are). As a Qara'i, I accepted that Jesus was a good, righteous teacher, not the final Messiah, but a good teacher. Ultimately I now accept him as the final Messiah, as he is.

I'm reading a great booklet about Baptism by the Rev C H Spurgeon (Spurgeon on Baptism). It is actually a hard read, but very very interesting.
