View Full Version : Archdiocese of London - Sede vacante!

Archbishop Michael-John
4th September 2010, 03:24 AM
I have received news that the Most Reverend Mohammed Omar, Archbishop of London for the Community Church of St John the Divine (Arian Catholic), has been taken ill and as a result has decided to retire. Also his wife has suffered a mild stroke recently and is unwell.

I have wished them both well and have offered prayers: that they will both find peace and comfort in their retirement, Archbishop Omar will be able to continue God's work in the Philippines, be it in an emeritus capacity, and that they both will have speedy and full recoveries.

Archbishop Omar has transferred all administration of the Community Church of St John the Divine to his Philippines mission under the direction of Mitred Fr Abbot Rosendo. Therefore the Community Church of St John the Divine will cease to exist in the UK. Please note that this is a separate church to the Arian Catholic Church, and is almost in full communion with us. Archbishop Omar and I were working towards bringing our Churches into full communion with each other although we did have disagreements over the doctrine of the ordination of women Priests and Bishops (not biblical), and the tradition of Christ having Buddhist leanings (not biblical).

Therefore with sadness I will now classify the Archdiocese of London as Sede vacante (the Seat is Vacant), although all administration will be handled in the Yorkshire HQ (God’s County!), Archdiocese of York, until I can appoint a new minister in the London Archdiocese. Therefore I will keep the Archdiocese of London open in the Arian Catholic Church.

I will however maintain contact with the mission in the Philippines and will post any news I receive from the mission either on the forum or in the ACe-Bulletin Newsletter.

Sad to hear that about the Bishop.. I tried to contact him a few times, all unsuccessful. Here is hoping that he, and his wife, recover and thrive in the Philippines!

As for the London office.. is there much of a congregation there in the physical sense?

Shalom,

I am also sad to hear of the former Archbishop's health problems. I will pray for him.

Peace, Shalom or Salaam,

We are limited and can not circle the situation. What looks bad in the piece can be good in the picture. I believe that ilness is a way of cleaning of sin and rising. Yes we have a plan but God has another plan. If you can be patience sometime been ill is good. The body can be ill but please do not forget that our spiritual body can also be ill and the real loose is not to heal it.

May God heal our brothers body (Amen)
