I love this group! Are they really monks or just in costume?
You've got Kurgan making himself a red velvet habit now!! :krazz:

OH DEAR! He'll look like Torquemada !

:jlol:

No, they're just a men's vocal group with beautiful voices . . and a healthy sense of whimsy !

Here in my home town, we had a group calling itself "The St. Cecelia Society" that would meet every Sunday in Cafe Pergolesi (part of a converted old brick wherehouse with 20ft ceilings and great accoustics), drink espresso mocha's and chant gregorian hymns, the Divine Office and Liturgies for fun. We had a fine time, and people loved us. Our coffees soon became free, and the place was always packed beyond legal capacity. The society dissolved after the '89 earthquake demolished the building (and many others). Cafe Pergolesi moved, but the new location has no accoustical merits. :'(

That sounds rather fun! I wish I had a singing (or chanting!) voice. The more majestic, the better!

And the Gregorian is excellent, I think I have many songs performed by them somewhere around here.

This is a link I posted elsewhere that discusses the Divine office:

The link at the end of the post is for a recording that is considered to be the most superb in all the world.
